Having finished fourth in the ladies' event at last year's Festival, FRENEYS WELL went on to land this race by no less than 19 lengths. This time around he was just touched off by L'Ami in the La Touche Cup on Thursday and bids to go one better over this much shorter trip. Stablemate Drombeag is generally thereabouts in these races but rarely wins though at least he'll be fresh having had just one run since pulling up in this last year. Lord Nellerie has been in good form between the flags but was beaten a long way when a 66/1 chance in this a year ago while Merry Cowboy hasn't won since October 2008 and that was over hurdles. Stromstad was in good form at this time last year landing a chase at Tramore but this will be his first attempt over these obstacles.
