Halibut ran very well in bumpers here in the spring before making an impressive hurdling bow at Clonmel where he was always going like a winner and defied a couple of errors. THE MODEL KINGDOM (NAP) was unbeaten in three bumpers and a maiden hurdle before outpaced from the last in a Down Royal Grade 3. He gets 9lb from the top weight which may swing things his way. Walnut Beach ploughed through the mud to land a Cork handicap so further rain would aid his cause while Uncle Phil wasn't right at Listowel after a battling maiden success at Killarney.
