settled in 3rd, ridden and no extra after 3 out, weakened entering straight
made all, slight mistake 2 out, pushed out to assert before last, easily
chased leader in 2nd, mistake 3 out, ridden entering straight, no extra from 2 out, kept on same pace (clinically abnormal post race)
The race conditions could have been framed for FORPADYDEPLASTERER who receives weight from inferior opposition. Tom Cooper's brilliant 2009 Arkle winner hasn't been seen since pulling up in the King George at Kempton, his first start at three miles, and he's been beaten on his comeback for the past two seasons. Two victories and ten second places over fences suggest a flaw in his armoury but the defeats have come at the very highest level and hopefully he'll be ready for this. Roi Du Mee progressed nicely in novice company last winter and landed a Grade 2 at Naas in February. He ran poorly in two races in the spring but would be ideally suited if the ground turns heavy. Jadanli has a penalty for his shock victory in the Grade 1 Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse. He never remotely looked like repeating that form in four subsequent efforts and was beaten a long way on his comeback at Listowel.
Jadanli (IRE) 8-1 (11-10) Soon settled well off pace in rear, never a factor, last of 5, well behind Finger Onthe Pulse (11-2) at Listowel 2m 4f chs 0-145 hvy in Sep.
Roi Du Mee (FR) 25-1 (11-10) Settled behind leaders, 6th halfway, dropped to rear and slight mistake 4 out, weakened, 5th of 7, 46l behind Realt Dubh (11-10) at Fairyhouse 2m 4f nov chs G1 gd in Apr.
Forpadydeplasterer (IRE) 14-1 (11-10) Held up behind in touch, struggling 11th, weakened and pulled up before next, in a race won by Long Run (11-10) at Kempton 3m chs G1 (1) gs in Jan, 9 ran.
