In depth

Verdict

A very strong turnout for this nice prize with several making their handicap debuts including CALL THE POLICE, third in the RSA at Cheltenham but a little disappointing in the Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse. He may still have been feeling the effects of that Festival run on that occasion and with track and trip sure to suit he's taken to bounce back. Crash and Medical Card are very closely matched on their 1-2 in a Grade 2 at Naas and both are on the upgrade as is Ninetieth Minute, a very easy winner at around this trip at Fairyhouse before falling in the Irish National. Foildubh, well beaten behind Sprinter Sacre at Cheltenham, appeared to appreciate the very testing ground when landing a handicap here last month and could do with some more rain while Gala Dancer is taking a leap in class after his novice success at Clonmel though he's another on the upgrade.
