Verdict

The highly tried Chanteloup can break her duck in a good little maiden here, with Dalisay, Fortune's Princess and Posteritas others to consider. The selection put up a good effort on debut at Beverley in April, when staying on for second behind Cesare before going straight to York for the Musidora next time. James Fanshawe is not one to throw a filly into that sort of company without thinking plenty of her and though she was almost 10 lengths adrift of Punctilious the experience will have helped to bring her on and she is in anything remotely like that class then she should be good enough here. The trainer has given her a nice break between both outings so far and hopefully she can benefit from that here. Dalisay is by Sadler's Wells and the is the recent rains have got into the ground then she will come into the reckoning. She will certainly come on for her latest start when running green to be third at Sandown over this trip, so she can't be dismissed, but she is just passed over this time. A bigger danger to the selection may be Fortune's Princess, who made an eyecatching debut at Newmarket the other day and is seen out again quite quickly. Mark Wallace's filly is another virtually certain to improve and as with all these the poser is who will do so the most. We know she acts over the trip and on the ground, so she won't be far away, though perhaps this might come a little soon for her after her first effort. Of the others, Posteritas makes more appeal stepped up to this trip than on either run so far, and she can get involved, but in a trappy race we will side with Chanteloup to break her duck.
