MAXINE had shown promise on the all-weather earlier this year before returning to Turf with a very easy victory on soft ground at Bath a week ago. She's been hit with a massive 12lb rise so coming here with a 6lb penalty looks the logical step. Myristica is also penalised for her recent victory at Nottingham where she was well supported and looked very much improved. She looks a real threat with the ground in her favour. Double Reflection has managed to win five races though is better on quicker ground while Walkonby lost her action at Redcar and is best watched for now. Valley Of Flowers was engaged in the 2.30 at Ripon yesterday so that result should be monitored.
Walkonby 25-1 (9-10) In rear of mid-division, pushed along and towards rear over 3f out, pulled up sharply just after 2f out, at Redcar 1m 2f hcp (5) gd in Apr.
Myristica (IRE) 10-3 (9-0) Always handy, pushed along 3f out, ridden over 2f out, switched right over 1f out, led inside final furlong, stayed on, won at Nottingham 1m 2f hcp fll (5) gs in May beating Omany Amber (8-13) by 3/4l, 7 ran.
Double Reflection 9-2 (9-6) Set strong pace, ridden and headed over 2f out, weakened final furlong, 8th of 10, 16 1/4l behind Jeanette May (8-8) at Leicester 1m 2f hcp (6) gf in Apr.
Maxine (IRE) 11-1 (9-4) Raced keenly, prominent early, dropped towards rear over 7f out, good headway to challenge and led 3f out, soon ridden, went clear inside final furlong, comfortably, won at Bath 1m 2f hcp (6) sft in May beating Broadhaven (9-5) by 9l, 12 ran.
Valley Of Flowers (IRE) 16-1 (9-10) Chased leader, led over 8f out, pushed along and headed inside final 2f, weakened over 1f out, 10th of 14, 7 3/4l behind Western Beat (9-7) at Chelmsford City 1m 2f (6) pol in Oct.
