Dance King won this last year on heavy going from 2lb lower and though recent form figures don’t read well he’s been running in better company. The once-useful Custom Cut is another dropping in class and his last victory was in a Group 3 at Leopardstown. Dark Pearl is running well though has a 5lb rise to contend with for landing a Class 4 at Sandown. Frontispiece couldn’t cope with the winner at Haydock but that was his first start since May so further progress can be expected. Mulligatawny won at Ripon then ran very well from 5lb higher here but is up another 4lb. FRANCIS XAVIER (NAP) reappeared in June and landed a Doncaster handicap for Hugo Palmer. Transferred to Kevin Frost, he won a York handicap at this level on good to soft in great style and can continue his winning run.
