Murcar is the selection to land what could be an opening race double for Philip Robinson. The son of Medicean tackled 1m 6f for the first time in ground that was softer than ideal over such an extended trip and while he plugged on, it could not be said he saw out the distance strongly. The drop back to 1m 4f should suit as he has won over 1m 2f, that being when breaking his maiden tag at Chepstow in May. He remains on an attractive mark of 69 and should be thereabouts. Chookie Hamilton returned to action with a bang last time. His four previous victories were achieved at Wolverhampton but off a 2lb higher mark he is another that merits respect. Master Nimbus has recovered his form since returning to the level, winning a lady riders handicap and being placed in a couple of handicaps. The veteran of the party Sporting Gesture can never be discounted as he continues to hold his form remarkably well for one on the go for so long. Connections of Wulimaster managed to obtain a leading rider last time which might suggest they quietly fancied their chances but he disappointed. Second over today's trip on his penultimate start, a re-production of that effort would bring him into the equation. It is difficult to get a grip on what Requia achieved in three maiden outings but she merits respect on the basis that she is an unexposed filly in against some very moderate handicappers.
