HARRISON GEORGE is taken to score at the principal expense of Red Cape and Barons Spy. Connections have made little secret of the regard in which they hold this four-year-old and while he looked a little unlucky at York, he has a decent draw this afternoon and put simply, needs to win this in order to hold any chance of taking in the big sprint handicaps during the next few months. Red Cape reverts back to six having possibly not got home over further at York. If the ground dries, he will be thereabouts. Barons Spy may have been unfortunate to find a well handicapped horse in Thebes last time out. The draw has not been kind today. Spitfire ran his best race of the season at Ascot and could be one to look out for in the market. Northern Dare and C'Mon You Irons have won weaker contests at Pontefract earlier in the month with a fair degree of style. It is worth bearing in mind that these followed a positive 24hr deluge that left conditions decidedly soggy to say the least. Pawan tries his heart out and could place again if he stays the extra furlong. Wyatt Earp had some big paydays when trained by Richard Fahey though the suspicion is that he might not be so well handicapped. Bel Cantor has been busy on the all-weather in an attempt to cash in off a lower mark in that sphere. Harrison George gets the nod.
