Tavener is back in the right grade and well drawn so goes on the short-list. Patrick continues to tumble down the weights and there are races to be won with Paul Midgley’s charge this year. Foxtrot Knight won on soft going here at the start of the month but was surprisingly beaten at Brighton six days later and is 5lb higher now. Alsvinder is 20lb lower than on the all-weather but has yet to show much on Turf. Bosham was second at Catterick off the back of wins at Wolverhampton and Lingfield but well behind LIQUID on Tapeta earlier and a pound worse off. Poorly drawn when behind Patrick at Thirsk last time, David Barron’s runner is better berthed here and could reverse those placings.
