Verdict

Last month's Ripon winner Rosairlie went close again at Newcastle last time but seems best with some cut in the ground and may not get that here. HEROSTATUS looks to have been cleverly campaigned this season, despite being well beaten in much better company. He's slipped down the weights as a result and, with Kieren Fallon taking over the reins, looks set to repeat last year's win in this off a 3lb lower mark. New Youmzain won one of these long distance handicaps here back in April and can figure along with Embsay Crag, third over 1m4f last time but likely to stay this trip. Sir Frank Morgan and Teak both won over 2m on the Polytrack last time and are others to consider.
