A number of these are regulars in staying races around here. Petella and Descaro are among the aforementioned but both were behind Jawaab over 2m at Newcastle 10 days ago, though Philip Kirby's eight-year-old now has a penalty. Generous Dream beat Spruzzo at Ripon but the latter let the form down at York next time when a long way behind Maid Of Meft, who had beaten Petella, Descaro and Blackstone Vegas over this C&D previously. Handles For Forks has a chance at the weights but three-year-olds Byron Blue, Marmas and Spanish Fork will have their stamina put to the test and last year's winner May Contain Nuts returns from a break wearing a visor for the first time. WATERFORD STAR was taken on much better opposition at York last time having rattled up a hat-trick earlier in the season. He likes fast ground so could be worth an interest here, though course winner Markington is starting to look very well handicapped and should be approaching peak fitness now after a lay-off.
