    Verdict

Fun Mac bids for back-to-back victories in this but the nine-year-old was well behind The Grand Visir in the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. The latter is a strong stayer but possibly not at his best on going this soft so the fast-improving three-year-old STAG HORN is preferred. Cheekpieces have transformed Hollie Doyle’s mount, who should handle the further step up in trip. Lucky Deal has a long absence to overcome and the other pair look out of their depth.
