MAGICAL EFFECT gives weight away all round but is proving a dab hand around this track and can boost his course record further. He has no particular secrets from the handicapper but that is a charge which can be levelled at all bar one of his opponents - the exception being Crash Helmet. Formerly with George Scott, the latter was unraced as a juvenile but showed promise in four second season starts and now has a first run for Micky Hammond after 10 months off. Course and distance winner Penny Pot Lane usually produces her best when hold-up tactics are employed so needs things to fall right, but she wasn't beaten far by the selection last time. Recent winner Inexes and the enigmatic Van Gerwen also merit respect.
