A short-head separated Regal Connection and Opera Comica at Hamilton last month and the latter is taken to reverse the form on 1lb better terms with Prince of Love rated the best of the remainder in an ultra-competitive opener. The selection is probably open to more improvement that Regal Connection after just three starts and with John Gosden's stable firing on all cylinders at present she gets the vote. Fusili has shown a consistent level of form, including over this trip, and is entitled to be thereabouts. Pat Haslam has his string in flying form so Herninski has to be respected along with George's Flyer, who represents the yard of Richard Fahey that has done so well in nurseries again this term. Formal Decree has been beaten in better races than this in his last two starts and cannot be discounted effectively taking a drop in class, while Lady Disdain could be of interest first time in this grade. Prince of Love has gone up 6lbs for his win at Redcar last month and has to be respected but Opera Comica looks to be going the right way and gets the vote.
