Sophisticated Heir had Red Charmer behind at Musselburgh last month and is a pound lower than his last win. But it could be the turn of stablemate MARAAKIB today as the return to a mile on a stiffer track should suit following his latest second at Catterick. Dark Ocean likes it here but may be a shade high in the weights at present, a remark that could also apply to the consistent Advance. But Taqneen is 5lb better off than when beaten a length by the latter at Newcastle so has a chance and Lil Sophella rarely runs a bad race. Cornborough is another who is usually thereabouts and the form of his last two placed efforts has been franked.
