Verdict

Last year's Ayr Gold Cup winner SUMMERGHAND (NAP) is a regular in major sprint handicaps and has been given a chance by the assessor so can gain career victory number 17. Aleezdancer was a long way behind him at Ayr but has won a handicap at this level unlike It Just Takes Time. The latter had Bay Breeze close behind when scoring at Ripon but Tim Easterby's charge has the better of the weights. Gavin Cromwell isn't one for chasing rainbows and nine-times winner Earls is respected, especially if the going eases, while Aphelios was consistent last summer but has looked a few pounds high in his last two starts. The three-year-old Kitai enjoyed the soft ground at Carlisle but faces much stronger rivals here.
