In depth

Verdict

Veiled Applause had a pipe-opener at Doncaster 10 days ago and should strip fitter here while Camerooney and Odin's Raven represent the in-form Brian Ellison and the latter won a decent handicap at York last summer, though may need further than this. Silvestre De Sousa is an interesting booking for Brockfield, a winner at Southwell in November, but DARING INDIAN has been contesting better races than this on the Polytrack lately and Ian Williams' lightly-raced gelding can get off the mark on turf here. Thunderstruck is potentially very well treated on turf and looks a better bet than Ay Tay Tate while the handicapper has relinquished his grip on Goldenveil and he should be winning soon at this level, though has a high draw to overcome today.
