This will be Mr Wolf's 28th start at Pontefract and he'd be a fitting winner of a race named after another Pontefract stalwart. The 11-year-old doesn't look the force of old, however, and fellow C&D winner Comptonspirit, winner of this 12 months ago, is more interesting having show a bit more lately. COMMANCHE RAIDER was just behind the latter last year but is a couple of pounds better off now and it's safe to ignore his latest run over 6f at Ayr as this is his trip. Michael Dods' charge, a winner here in June when Rio's Girl and Mr Wolf were behind, can bounce back to winning ways though three-year-old Sunny Side Up is likely to push him hard as she may just have needed her latest run at Thirsk.
