Verdict
The ground is forecast as firm but this will prove a thorough test of stamina for juveniles at this stage of their careers on this stiff track. However, it should suit the TEAMtalk choice, Fellow Ship, who has been running creditably in defeat in competitive contests over shorter of late. The Barry Hills-trained colt will appreciate the step up in trip and should take plenty of beating on his placed effort off a mark of 79 in a valuable one-mile Newcastle nursery in August. Laggan Bay has looked short of pace in similar company but is another who can improve for this trip so will be no pushover. Fantastico has every chance on the book and should give a good account while Shanty Star will be sharper for his debut effort at Ayr in late August over this more suitable trip and shouldn't be underestimated.
