Even Mystic Meg wouldn't be hopeful of predicting a win for Astromagick after an uninspiring debut, whilst Subramaniam appeared to handle the cut in the ground last time at Newcastle but lacked the pace to keep up. ULLSWATER has the best form on offer and receives the vote having only just been caught in the last stride at Bath to finish second. Mark Johnston's Singspiel colt is entitled to improve again here and can take the top honours. Mahab El Shamaal may be one of the better newcomers and a check on the market is suggested as his dam was a triple winner over this sort of trip and he was sired by 2005 Derby winner, Motivator. Hurricane Guest is another debut runner worth monitoring, but our preference is for one with experience in Ullswater.
