      Verdict

      The lightly-raced Red Kite comfortably landed a Brighton maiden but hasn't made the expected progress in handicaps, though he had Arranmore behind at Newmarket last time. Dogged started favourite for a Haydock handicap last month but finished tailed off and was reported to have an irregular heartbeat. MOTARAJEL got up close home over this trip at Ripon then pulled too hard in an amateurs' race over 1m2f at Beverley where he was headed 1f out. Sparkle In His Eye has won four of his last seven and acts on the ground so looks the main threat with his rider's claim a bonus.
