Dubai Melody gets a confident vote in this fillies maiden, with the two Johnston runners Piety and Yemen Desert put forward as the main rivals. John Gosden's daughter of Woodman showed plenty of promise on her juvenile debut at Salisbury and returned with a sound effort at Newmarket. She was put in her place by Rhinebird, but had some potentially decent types behind and with further improvement likely she should be capable of taking an event of this nature. Piety had just one outing last season, finishing second on soft ground over seven furlongs. Her breeding suggests she will suited by this longer trip and faster ground and she should go close if fit on her return. Stable companion Yemen Desert wasn't beaten far behind Fyvie here last week. She took a while to get the hang of things that day and she should come on for the outing. Any money for the newcomer Pochard would be interesting, but Dubai Melody has to be the form choice.
