TOP GAMBLE looked an above average hurdling recruit when smoothly accounting for a dozen rivals at Ffos Las in early February. Making all, the son of Presenting was always in command and is hard to oppose here in pursuance of the three-timer. He also appears a gelding with scope for considerable progress. The sole concern is that all three runs to date have seen him encounter heavy conditions and he will face notably quicker ground here. King Spirit is far more exposed but the formbook still reveals him as the likeliest danger, although it would not surprise were Henryville to prove himself a decent sort in time. The Generous gelding has hinted at promise in bumper company prior to this hurdling debut for Harry Fry who is enjoying such a splendid time of things in his first season in the training ranks.
