Supreme Piper and Emphatic look closely matched but the vote goes to the former. This well-bred individual does at least have the potential of improvement within him and while this is probably a run ahead of a long-term chasing aim, the way in which he won novice events suggests that he has no problems with trip or going. Emphatic is another out-and-out stayer. He has ability although this is tempered by a tendency to hang under pressure when maximum effort is required. Its Wallace always runs well at this track and while the recent victories were at lesser grade, he is dangerous if given a soft lead. Cowboyboots is a likeable individual but he appears on the wrong end of a battle with the handicapper. Material World had solid form last term and is the ideal candidate to put Suzy Smith on the map. She does clout the odd hurdle or too and no doubt this has had remedial action on the gallops. Supreme Piper is open to improvement and we side with the Philip Hobbs inmate.
