Verdict

Alan King has taken on a potentially top class recruit in THE BETCHWORTH KID, and if he can convert his flat abilities to the winter game then he should win this doing handstands, while Lady Jinks, Coin Of The Realm and King Edmund can all go well. The selection is a classy Listed performer on the level, where he is rated 104. He stays 1m 6f in that sphere, where he was trained by Michael Bell, so this two miles may be a bit on the short side, but he acts very well on soft ground and whatever the trip he should have the measure of these opponents. Lady Jinks is rated over 50lbs below the selection on the flat, but has conditions to suit here and may still be able to make a race of it for the frame, while Coin Of The Realm also goes on the ground and stays 1m 4f on the level, so from a rating in that sphere of 89, he is the most likely forecast proposition. King Edmund is a rarity in this in that he has made his way so far entirely under rules, though he appears to have plenty to find with the leading lights, the brightest of which should be The Betchworth Kid.
