In depth

Verdict

The selection here is Take The Stand, with On Y Va, Art Virginia and Son Of Greek Myth rated as the main dangers. It is interesting to see high-class chaser Take The Stand racing over hurdles but, with his stable in form and first-time cheekpieces fitted, he has to be considered off a hurdling mark that is a lot lower than his chasing one. On Y Va could also be interesting off a mark of 118, as he showed better equivalent form in winning over fences last season and this lightly-raced type, who has won three of his last six completed races, is respected. Art Virginia is also lightly raced but has shown decent maiden hurdle form, so is another to consider, while Son Of Greek Myth, who races from a mark that is four pounds above his course winning mark, which came over a half-mile shorter trip, is another that can go well. However, given his seemingly favourable handicap mark, it is Take The Stand who gets the vote.
