If HONOUR'S DREAM is able to reproduce his last effort so soon after then he'll take some beating, so we'll take the top-weight ahead of Kiltimoney and Abbey Dore in a competitive handicap chase. Chris Gordon's charge took second behind Ray Mond last Wednesday, an effort that reads particularly well as that rival was completing a hat-trick at the time. It is therefore a wise move for connections to run him again before the handicapper can react and indeed he gets to race off a 2lb lower mark, so looks very nicely treated here. The concern is that this race may come too soon but at the likely odds he's worth chancing. Kiltimoney may well start favourite for the contest on the strength of his staying on second last time. He's been bumped up in the weights for that effort but it's worth noting the gelding's sole chasing success came here at Plumpton, so he'll get the vote of many. However, he's only got the one win from 35 starts across various codes and might not represent much in the way of value. Abbey Dore has been consistent in his seven starts without really threatening to win, but off the same mark as when last seen he's certainly considered as he's undoubtedly open to improvement. Quartz Du Montceau has claims of beating Hobb's Dream at these weights but the last named has at least shown the ability to win whereas the former has not, but both may struggle of their respective ratings. Quartz Dore is of more interest on his fencing bow as he should improve for the switch in obstacles and this isn't the hardest starting point so heed any market signals, whilst in contrast Miss Fleur looks easily opposable upon her return to the track. This is competitive despite the fact the race lacks quality, but if Honour's Dream can run up to his best twice in a week then he's the one they've all got to beat.
