Verdict

MCKENZIE'S FRIEND showed enough in bumpers in the spring to suggest he would do well over timber and made a successful start over the minimum trip here last month. The runner-up is fancied in the opener here and Oliver Sherwood's charge can defy a penalty. Baron De Ligniere showed little in two bumpers but stamina should be his strong point and he can do better as can Dun Bay Creek who has moved to the in-form Alan King yard. The remainder with hurdling experience have shown virtually nothing so the well-bred Rocknrobin can make his presence felt after a promising point-to-point debut.
