In depth

Verdict

Course and distance winner Mister Putt won in first-time blinkers two starts ago and proved he goes well in shades when finishing third next time out at Leicester. Suited by these conditions he should go well for connections running against some moderate opposition. Mixed Marriage surprised many when winning first time out over this course and distance two weeks ago and if reproducing that effort on this heavier surface must be given every chance of following up. Thesis found a Martin Pipe newcomer too good last time out and with the winner following up next time out the form of that race looks good. He may well start a short price favourite here but he is unproven on heavy ground which negates taking a short price about him. Hale Bopp stayed on well to take a weak contest at Folkestone last time out but may well struggle with his penalty here.
