The performance of CROSS KENNON in testing conditions four days ago is evidence enough to give him the verdict ahead of Wondersobright and Wiesenfurst. A winner by 22 lengths last time a run it was a run which capped a steady improvement in form. A seven pound penalty has been awarded but that shouldn't stop him, as he is unexposed enough to improve again, and with the ground also in his favour he should follow up. Wondersobright had been running well in previous starts before pulling up in the race won by the selection last time out. It could be that the 10-year-old is a little high in the weights these days but he does like it here and could go well. Wiesenfurst has the all important Gary Moore factor but is still a maiden after nine attempts. He's only shown bits of form over timber so far but wasn't beaten that far by now top class Dee Ee Williams in a bumper last year. Tamrai Dancer is potentially well treated in this race given an age allowance but Cross Kennon is the one on top form.
