In depth

Verdict

A tough race to call here fore punters with many in with chances on their best form but the principals look to be Moustique de L'Isle, Snowy and Jexel and the tentative vote is given to Moustique de L'Isle. The selection won well in first time blinkers on heavy ground last time out when beating Ocean Tide. He remains well weighted and as he also has form on a faster surface he looks the one to be on. Snowy rates the main danger on his latest fourth behind Bellarney Jewel. However he gave the impression he was in the handicappers grip on that occasion but he could improve for the longer trip. Jexel is another that could go well on his latest second behind Lovely Native especially as he is another that will relish this longer trip. Metal Detector is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he looks weighted up to his best. Of the remainder 1 Sconced looks on a fair mark and could go well at a price but for the winner we are happy to side with Moustique de L'Isle.
