Several of these are almost certainly better over shorter trips including Ludlow fourth Shake The Barley and Yabora, who would also prefer a softer surface. Logans Run and Et Maintenant are others likely to struggle for stamina around here while there hasn't been much encouragement in the recent form of Soubriquet, who finished a long way behind Or De Grugy at Kelso in October. Appleaday has to go on the short-list, however, having just been collared by the rallying Magic Sky in a veterans' handicap at Ascot 17 days ago but preference is for BROOKLYN BROWNIE. The top weight travelled well for a long way when runner-up to Rambling Minster in another veterans' race at Doncaster in February and the quicker ground here is very much in his favour.
