THE COCKNEY MACKEM is talented but quirky. He did win over course and distance in April and over fences at Worcester last month but almost refused to race there last time. That said he was only beaten a length-and-a-quarter and, if getting away on level terms today, has every chance of adding to his tally. Castletown Bridge won a modest affair at Sligo in May but has been well beaten since and Hallmark Star has a lengthy absence to overcome, though went close on a few occasions in his first campaign over hurdles and should be winning soon. Lucinda Russell also runs Flat winner Trois Vallees while On The Buckle won a Fontwell bumper in May and could be best of the rest.
