Verdict

Renvyle gets call here over Jefertiti. Renvyle has already won over fences, when landing a novices' handicap at Bangor in March. Much as he has been disappointing over the larger obstacles since, a recent spin over hurdles might have helped his confidence, and a return to a shorter trip today could also help. With Toad Hall and Zurs having a lot to find with the selection on what they have so far achieved, the biggest danger to Renvyle could come from Jefertiti. Lucinda Russell's seven-year-old showed plenty of promise over fences in runs in May and October of last year but has been disappointing on his last three starts. However, he may have needed his second-last run, which came here, and the three-mile trip might have stretched him on his first run for the best part of eight months. If he is now fully on song, he rates a danger, but the one to beat looks to be Renvyle.
