In depth

Verdict

Play The Ace is top rated in this but having a first run for Mickey Bowen and has never won over a trip that far over fences. FORGOTTEN GOLD lost all chance at Newbury with a mistake at the last but had run well up that point. If his jumping holds up, he still has the ability to win a race like this though course winner Double Whammy will have needed his run in the Foxhunters’ at Cheltenham and looks a big danger. Mr Mercurial is a better bet than stablemate Relax and Purcell's Bridge.
