In depth

Verdict

Gold Chain has become a standing dish around here, winning four times. She wasn’t beaten far when joint favourite over 2m4f last month but has been raised a couple of pounds since, though is still nicely treated on her best form. A MONTMARTRE (NAP) is definitely ahead of the handicapper judged on her facile victory at Taunton with a 6lb rise hardly likely to halt her progress if she’s in the same mood. Bahrikate steps up a grade off a 7lb higher mark after scoring over course and distance last month while Princess Mononoke was only third off this mark at Carlisle after winning at Hexham.
