A small but competitive field goes to post for the opener and the main protagonists look to be Whaleef, Envious and Hollows Mill and we will take a chance on Whaleef. The gelding from the Paul Webber yard won well on his debut this season when defeating Bentyheath lane. He is sure to improve for that run and with conditions again in his favour he will be hard to beat. Envious rates the main danger on his latest second behind End Of An Error, the drop in trip is sure to suit and he has definite place claims. Hollows Mill could also go well but although he travels well in his races he does not always find as much as is expected off the bridle and for that reason he is opposed on this occasion. Of the remainder Yellow Soil Star is an Irish raider from a yard in form and is worth noting in the market but we are happy to stick with Whaleef.
