In depth

Verdict

Fiddlers Creek gets a narrow vote over Royal Glen, with Supply And Fix and Mezereon also likely to be in the shake-up. Fiddlers Creek has won plenty of times on the Flat, but gained his first success over jumps in battling fashion at Kelso in May, outgunning the more fancied Kiwijimbo. He lines up fit from two runs on the Flat of late, most recently behind handicap good thing Alambic at Musselburgh, and with the fast ground in his favour, Rose Davidson's mount is expected to go close. Royal Glen likes the fast ground as well and was successful at Hexham in June. However, he has crept up the weights since and has it to do with the selection. Irish raider Supply And Fix has topweight, and if setting out to make the running, is there to be shot down, while Mezereon has a good girl on board in Pauline Robson but was too keen when beaten in a seller at Hereford and needs to show more to figure. Fiddlers Creek is the pick.
