Field Roller is the pick over Westmeath Flyer and The Masareti Kid, with Nabir best of the remainder. Field Roller has topweight here, but has leading claims on the strength of a gutsy effort at Hexham where he seemed to appreciate the step up in trip to open his account over fences under today's pilot Graham Lee. That should have boosted the six-year-old's confidence, and he makes more appeal than the much older Westmeath Flyer. The latter failed to stay when put over three-and-a-quarter miles at Southwell and will also like today's journey more, but there is surely not much improvement in Paul Blockley's charge. The Masareti Kid has been placed twice in three starts over fences, and with Paddy Merrigan taking 5lb off his back, he should be there or thereabouts. The rest are hard to fancy, with perhaps Nabir the best of them, but all in all, the progressive Field Roller fits the bill.
