    Verdict

Fagan, runner-up behind Unowhatimeanharry in the Albert Bartlett last year, made his chasing debut in a decent contest at Fairyhouse at the turn of the year but was pulled up before the turn for home. He’s undoubtedly better than that and, after a break, may be ready to make a race of it with likely favourite BEAT THAT (NAP). A dual Grade 1 winner over the smaller obstacles, Nicky Henderson’s nine-year-old is jumping fences late in life but can be excused a narrow defeat by the more-experienced Brother Tedd at Uttoxeter over a trip too short. Baby Bach won nicely over track and trip in May but has to give 7lb to two potentially smart novices.

    Formwatch

Baby Bach (IRE) 9-4 (10-12) Held up in 4th, 3rd from 10th, 2nd 4 out, led 2 out, clear flat, stayed on well, won at Perth 3m (4) gd in May beating Rainy City (10-12) by 5l, 5 ran.

Beat That (IRE) 10-11jfav (11-2) Made most until ridden and headed 2 out, driven and every chance flat, held close home, 2nd of 3, 1/2l behind Brother Tedd (11-2) at Uttoxeter 2m 4f (3) gd in May.

Fagan 4-1 (11-12) Held up, moderate 6th halfway, moderate 3rd from 9th, 4th and closer 4 out, soon ridden and no extra, weakened and pulled up before 3 out, at Fairyhouse 2m 5f sft in Jan.

Here Comes Love (IRE) 66-1 (10-12) Tracked winner until 4th, soon outpaced, never dangerous, 4th of 5, 33l behind Peace And Co (10-12) at Hexham 2m (4) gd in Jun.

Solway Trigger 8-1 (10-0) Held up towards rear, headway 2 out, no impression, soon weakened, 8th of 10, 37 1/2l behind No Such Number (10-11) at Hexham 2m 4f hcp (5) gd in May.
