    Verdict

Be My Deputy has his first start for Lucinda Russell having won four times last season for Richard Guest. He may need to drop a few pounds before recapturing the winning thread. Lord Redsgirth has shown little since leaving Gordon Elliott, who runs Passing Through in this, and was a long way behind HAWAII KLASS here in May. Donald Whillans' charge was far from disgraced in a higher grade over course and distance subsequently and should be in the firing-line today. Sergeant Pink looks a shade high in the weights now but Civil Unrest could figure if on a going day, though they have become less frequent lately.
