In depth

Verdict

Chitu scored gamely in handicap company when last on these shores in April so this return to novice company will hold no terrors for him on just a fourth chase start. He's obviously a leading contender and Brian Hughes is booked. Vosne Romanee has the highest official rating of these over hurdles where he has proved a proficient performer at his best. He does not appear as an obvious chasing type but will have outstanding claims if handling this new discipline and is in very good hands. COLLA PIER, highly tried over fences without success, might just be worth chancing down in grade in receipt of all the allowances, especially as confidence should be buoyed by a battling success on the Flat at Dundalk last month.
