Poptronic beat Sea Silk Road and Mimikyu in the Lancashire Oaks at Haydock in July but William Haggas’ filly was an unlucky loser that day. She subsequently finished third in the Prix Vermeille here, behind Melo Melo but just ahead of Rue Boissonade, when again giving the impression she’d be suited by this step up in trip. Melo Melo beat Baiykara and Ottery at Deauville last month but we are loathe to desert SUMO SAM with the going in her favour again. She’s been a revelation over this trip recently and should be out of trouble on the front end. Thunder Roll wasn’t winning out of turn at Galway and may be capable of further improvement.
