OLMEDO finished a close-up fourth to Circus Maximus in a Group 1 contest over track and trip last time with Shaman back in sixth and looks the one to be on. An earlier victory at Deauville gives him the beating of Impulsif on collateral form and Jean-Claude Rouget’s yard has won two of the last three renewals. Impulsif may well improve further after landing a Group 3 last time but The Revenant is already proven at this level with a victory at Baden Baden and is preferred to Jessica Harrington’s Tauran Shaman, a maiden and handicap winner in Ireland facing a big step up in class today.
