Verdict
This is a very tricky conditions race but Dandy Nichols supplied the first two in a handicap on Monday and his two runners Bahamian Pirate and Proud Boast can fight out the finish here with the former just getting the nod, Trinculo and Indian Spark look best of the others. Bahamian Pirate contested some top races last season, culminating in the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp. where he ran a cracker to finish just three lengths behind the winner Patavellian. There is obviously nothing of that class in today's contest so if he runs anywhere near that form he should collect. Proud Boast didn't manage a victory last season but put up some good efforts in defeat including a close up fourth to Dubaian Gift in the Scarbrough stakes at Doncaster, if he is fit for his first outing since October he should be in the shake up. Indian Spark is no spring chicken but still has plenty of ability as he showed in listed company last season and he could sneak into a place. Trinculo ran well on his return to turf at Doncaster last week when second in a class B handicap, he has a bit to find on current ratings but with fitness assured, could get into the action. So a cracking sprint and we think Bahamian Pirate can plunder first prize.
