VERTUEUX is selected after valid excuses for his Brighton flop. The saddle slipped (after he'd stumbled on the path across the track called Wilson Avenue) and on his previous form in staying races at Chepstow he would rate the one to beat here; a mark of 61 still looks enticing. Cotton King scraped home at Wolverhampton on his first start past a mile and he is not discounted here with more improvement to come, whilst the step back up in trip will suit Petella. Arctic Wings needs a market check as he returns to the flat, and along with Capable Guest and the in-form Warne's Way is not to be discounted. Dart, having not been with new trainer John Mackie for long, should give it a bold bid under her big weight but she may prove to be vulnerable back on turf.
