There is not a great deal of strength in depth to this race and our shortlist consists of Lunar Lord, Banningham Blaze and Border Terrier, with the vote going to Lunar Lord. A course and distance winner, the selection was only just beaten over course and distance on his last run and is not far above a winning mark. Banningham Blaze won from a mark of 49 at Beverley in April 2003 so has to come into things now rated 46, and Border Terrier has a clear chance based on his juvenile form and looked to show something better last time. A number of the others have regressed so this spins us back to the selection, which is Lunar Lord.
