Despite top weight, Beat The Tide isn't out of this as he was only beaten half-a-length at Thirsk last month off today's mark when Hallstatt was more than four lengths away in third. The latter's stablemate Hurry Home Poppa won over course and distance in July and Valid Reason would have a chance on his best form, though hasn't raced since March and will be back hurdling soon. Rowlestone Lass just can't get her head in front and has crept up the weights while Strawberry Martini took a backward step at Wolverhampton last time. WINTER SPICE is also a maiden but has been placed twice here and likes a quick surface. She's given a final chance to get off the mark with Ryan Tate's claim a plus.
