Dark Parade can follow up at the expense of Countback, Amwell Brave and Mister Completely. Dark Parade was produced fit enough to score at Bath after a six-month break by his new trainer David Evans, having left Gary Moore, for whom he won three times on the all-weather. In addition the gelding landed a couple of races in Spain two years ago, so obviously is not put off his stride by moving around. He will bounce off the fast ground, stays well and does not appear badly treated for his follow-up bid. A career of summer jumping awaits according to his trainer, but not before he has paid his way again on the Flat. Tony Carroll has his string in form both over jumps and on the level, and the consistent Countback should go well off 8st 5lb, while Amwell Brave will appreciate the step up in trip judged by his effort over 12-furlongs at Southwell. Mister Completely ran as though something was amiss when last of 12 at Kempton, and is better judged on earlier efforts, but for the winner we return to Dark Parade.
